30 Days of Tales Day 21: Most Shocking Reveal

Hmm… this one is kinda hard…but I think I’ll go with the one that pretty much any Tales fan knows. The Reveal of Kratos being Lloyd’s father.

I think what made this scene so shocking is how it came. I mean Yuan took Lloyd hostage and practically laughed as everyone was freaking out!!! He’s kinda sadistic >..> Especially how Kratos is just standing there not denying it ;^; And then Mithos came and there’s more shocking reveals!!!! Seriously!! Although I love how Lloyd’s just saying “What do I believe?!” Like if you see this in the OVA though Zelos is there to put Lloyd back in his place. Though in the game its Colette and cue the cheesey speech like Mithos said. I kinda agreed…

Oh and for my last day bout Favorite Quotees I forgot Lloyd’s “Everyone! Stop saying Corny things!!!”

30 Days of Tales Day 16: Your Favorite Scene

OH GOSH!!! YOU’RE MAKING ME CHOOSE!! Ugh..and I don’t want to be wishy washy by saying I love them all. Even though it’s true Umm I would have to say…I really enjoyed Lloyd’s scene with Colette in Flanoir and also his scene with Kratos.

I love this scene because of how much feeling there is. So many people are there to reassure Lloyd and tell him that he’s not alone. That no matter what happens he’s still him and nothing will change that. Although you have to do two different playthroughs to see the two different scenes I think it’s always refreshing to see it. And with his scene with Kratos, I love the father-son moment and I was really interested about what happened with Anna.

Although, another scene I love is the famous hot coffee scene because Lloyd really pulls through in that one. And it just proves that no one will tell you anything unless you give them a reason to.

And there are so many scenes but I don’t wanna be typing forever ;^;

30 Days of Tales Day 2: Favorite Main Male Hero

Although my favorite game was Tales of the Abyss, this one has to go to Lloyd Irving from Tales of Symphonia.

First off lemme just say that Lloyd isn’t really the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to school, however, his sense of justice is actually really spectacular. (Sorry Lloyd I know you don’t like that word.)He really embodies all of the dwarven vows (ex. we should all work together to make a better world, good and love will always win) and he really does believe in the good in everyone; something in which doing today is really tough. Another thing that should come to mind is that he can actually be smart when he wants to; as seen with the famous “hot, no iced” coffee scene. Also, like Kratos said, he knows he can correct his mistakes and that is why mistakes are made; so we can learn from them. Most people today automatically give up as soon as they make a mistake.

Another thing I like about Lloyd is his character developement. In the beginning of the journey, he is rash and possesses a very limited understanding of the world around him.  Lloyd only saw things in black and white, that there was only two sides; the right side and the wrong side. However, as we went along, he became more thoughtful and his view of the world broadened as he saw there was more than just black and white.

A final thing I like about Lloyd is his overall story. (SPOILERS) His mother dying and getting seperated from Kratos at age three. Getting raised my Dirk. Lloyd knows what its like to be an outsider. And because of this some of us can actually relate to him and say “I know how that feels.” Finding Kratos after oh so so so soooo long but never actually having a chance to bond with him even after the game ended because of Derris Kharlan. (<-that seriously hurt me).

I defeated Kratos, the angel, the one who betrayed us. And I forgive Kratos, the hero of the Ancient War, who helped us. That’s all.

“Is this not a good time…to tell Lloyd? You and Kratos are father and son.”
